The food is paramount to any mention of Jedediah Hawkins with many distinct spaces to enjoy it, as the weather permits: breakfast in the solarium for Inn guests, brunch al fresco, and dinner by the fireplace. The restaurant pays tribute to the North Fork’s agricultural bounty and acclaimed wines and micro brews. Our wine list is a balance of local wines and a selection from the rest of the world. Herbs and produce from our kitchen garden, and the freshest local seafood contribute to delicious and unpretentious farm to table fare. We pride ourselves on offering a great dining experience in an elegant but relaxed setting.  Thousands of diners consistently place us at the top of OpenTable’s Diners’ Choice Lists for food, romance, special occasion and ambiance.

The Speakeasy

The mystique of Jedediah Hawkins is nowhere more alive than in The Speakeasy, a sanctuary with flagstone walls and old brick and timber from the barn. Legends abound. Some claim that Jedediah Hawkins was an abolitionist and the house was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Some claim that Jedediah was a gunrunner. There are unexplained secret passages and trapdoors, which lend support to the stories. Immerse yourself in the history with a glass from our keg wine and a bite from a casual menu of pub fare. The Speakeasy is a gathering spot to watch a movie or tv, or play a game of backgammon with good friends.

Sessions in the Speakeasy is a series of workshops led by some of the best, most approachable experts in their fields. In a nod to the wealth of high-quality wine, beer and spirits made on Long Island’s East End, these sessions will feature local products, served with locally sourced signature tasting menu.
